N'awlins Jazz Cafe

N'awlins Jazz Cafe
4206 Magazine St
New Orleans, LA 70115

The interior colors are beautiful and red! The plush seat backs are a nice touch.

This is a real Cajun restaurant where you can find things on the menu like Wild Rabbit, Alligator Burger and Frog Legs.

They brought out the sweet Corn Muffins which were absolutely delicious.

I had the Cajun Cowan Turtle, something I had never had before. It was a tasty type of meat like beef. But what made the dish great was the red sauce it was prepared in. It was a perfect blend that really pleased my palate.

My coworker had the Fried Catfish and Shrimp plate. She had an ample portion of food she could scarcely finish. So, being the chivalrous man I am, I felt obliged to help her out.

The shrimp batter was wonderfully flavored and the catfish was extremely tender and had that 'melt in your mouth' texture.

Overall, it was a great dining experience and I plan on going back again very soon!

Daisy Bistro

Daisy Bistro
5831 Magazine St
New Orleans, LA, 70115

When you get to the 5800 block of Magazine Street, slow way down because if you don't you are likely to drive right by this place. And if you are not handicapped, don't even try to park because there is only one parking space and it is for that purpose.

Now once you have cussed, parked, walked and listened to your wife nag about how much her feet hurt, prepare yourself for one of the best meals you will ever have.

The interior dining area is a bright and cherry room which seems to inspire conversation.

My selection for appetizer was the 'Gulf Oysters Poached In Herbsaint Cream'. This dish was delightful and you bacon lovers will be happy with the 'bacony' surprise in every bite.

My entree was the 'Bouillabaisse Of Fresh Gulf Seafood'. Similar in design to my appetizer, it was a great compliment that was excellently prepared.

For dessert, I had the 'Warm Chocolate Ganache And Peanut Butter Mousse'. This was wonderfully chocolate. I really appreciate the portion size as it was not too overwhelming after a great meal.

There is also a bar, just before the dining area, where I hope you can get a bite because I plan on going back just for the appetizer. You will like this place! Try it soon.
